BAKE FOR YOUR DOG - WAGADO
I love baking and cooking, and I've always wanted to either bake for Herky and Milton or cook for them. I haven't had any time to look up some dog recipes that are easy enough to make at home, so I was very excited when these superfood dog treat mixes came out! These are Wagado, and they come in 4 different flavors: Sweet Tooth, Carnivore, Deep Sea and Zen.
Wagado is a superfood dog treat mix that is super easy for you to whip up at home. All you need to do is add some water, vegetable oil and bake off in any size or shape you want! They contain no soy, no gluten and no corn and are packed with superfoods and nutrients.
We got to try the Sweet Tooth and Deep Sea flavors and the girls couldn't get enough!
- Add 3/4 cup of water
- Add 2 Tbsp of vegetable oil
- bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
"Our Deep Sea dog treat mix features ingredients high in omega-3 fatty acids. Green-lipped mussel, wild caught salmon, and nori seaweed help keep your pupper’s hips and joints feelin’ young while also supporting heart health, brain function, and a healthy skin & coat. We top things off by adding chia seeds, sweet potato, kelp, carrot and probiotics for a hefty dose of antioxidants and digestive support."
- Add 1/3 cup of water
- Add 2 Tbsp of vegetable oil
- bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
This mix seems to contain less product, but does weigh as much as the Deep Sea. The reason being is there are some carob chips and heavier ingredients that increase the weight, but not the volume.
"Our Sweet Tooth dog treat mix is made with ingredients high in vitamin A, iron, manganese, magnesium and potassium. Ingredients like banana, apple, whole oats, and carob chips help keep your fluff nugget active while supporting healthy organ and muscle function. We top things off by adding chia seeds, carob powder, honey powder, sweet potato and probiotics for a hefty dose of antioxidants and digestive support."
These treats are super fun and easy to make!
The downside of these treats: your dogs will hardly be able to contain their excitement during the whole process.
Happy baking :)
PS: see the video below of the entire process! :) also... we may have tasted these ourselves... :s
Holiday Gift Guide for Dogs
We love to spoil the girls, and we're certain that you do too! The Holidays are just around the corner, and we have a round up of our favorite things that you could gift your dog, or someone you know that has a dog.
3- Bully Bunches - 25$
If your dog is anything like Herky & Milton, then he or she must LOVE bully sticks. Those can sometimes be smelly, but can keep your dog occupied for hours. This subscription service automatically renews on the 15th of each month, and you get 5 brand new bully sticks sent out to you on the 1st of the following month. You can either choose 6" or 12" bully sticks too! AND it's free shipping to any address in Canada :)
4- Balls - 10$
Almost all dogs love balls, right? Our favorites are the small ones from Kong, and the Chuck It balls. The Kong balls are the girls' favorite because it's small enough to hold in their mouth, and it also squeaks! The Chuck it balls have the best shape and weight for fetching. You can also use the stick to help you throw the ball!
5- Dog Puzzles - 20$
These un-traditional toys stimulate your dog's sense of smell, and can provide hours of fun time for your dog. I found two on Amazon that are really fun, one from Trixie, and the other from Outward Hound. The one from Trixie is easier and more appropriate for small dogs. The Doggie Blocks from Outward Hound would be more suitable for large dogs.
6- Treat dispensing dog toy - 15$
If you want your dog to move around or jump around a bit more to deserve its treats, this might be the toy for you! It doesn't offer a very precise throw, and is also quite loud, but can be fun! I found this one from Asocea on Amazon for 15$.
7- Dog Hoodie - 33$
This is great to keep your dog warm AND cute at the same time. This is perfect for dogs who don't get too cold in the winter, and also for the switch between seasons. This one is from GF Pet, and is available in 3 different colors :)
8 - Winter jacket - 45$
Something that will keep your dog super warm this winter: a GF Pet winter jacket! This new jacket called the St-Moritz from this year's collection is oh so luxe and the color is just perfect!
More selection here.
9- Rope Leash - 49$
A gift that would make the hooman happy too. Our new collection of rope leashes is our BEST one so far with beautiful neutrals and some pops of pastels. We're super proud of this collection, and know they'll be appreciated as a present this Holiday season :)
Head over here for the entire selection.
10- Dog boots
11- Aromatherapy pillow
For the dog that suffers from anxiety, how about an aromatherapy pillow? :) From Noble Pet Company, this gift is unexpected, useful, and can be personalized too!
12- Personalized dog tag
There are so many companies that offer dog tags, but my favorite find this year was the ones from Italian company My Family. These are so unique and beautiful. What's most amazing is that they offer charms in almost ALL dog breeds. No kidding. These can be personalized and shipped directly to your house :)
I'm hoping these suggestions help you in your Holiday shopping :)
Thanks for reading, and happy shopping!
PET CARRIER RECOMMENDATIONS: TOP 3
As some of you may or may not know, we're leaving with Herky & Milton on a trip to California shortly, and have been trying out some pet carriers. They will both be traveling in cabin, although they don't absolutely need to be in a carrier (post coming soon).
For today's post, we'd like to thank Sleepypod and Go Fresh Pet for sending some products for us to try out. We'll also be reviewing the Sherpa pet carrier and other goodies.
Herky weighs 19lbs and measures 13" to the shoulder
Milton weighs 12.8lbs and measures 12" to the shoulder
1- Sherpa Large Pet Carrier
- Good for cats and dogs
- Most commonly found pet carrier in pet stores and online
- Good for pets up to 22lbs
- Measurements: 19x184.108.40.206
- Carrier weight: 4lbs
- Price: 79 CAD
- To purchase, click here.
This carrier works ok for Herky, but perfect for Milton. When travelling with dogs in a carrier, airlines usually recommend that the pet is able to stand and turn around in the carrier. Clearly, this carrier wouldn't allow it for either Herky nor Milton. Nevertheless, I still believe they would both be comfortable in this carrier. You can also use this carrier in the car, but need to make sure it's safely secured for it to not move.
This carrier has a waterproof faux lambskin lining that is removable and machine washable. The girls LOVE the texture of lambskin, so this makes it very comfortable to them. The zippers are said to be lockable, but I don't think they are.
The straps are patented seatbelt safety straps, and the handles are padded. The carrier allows both topside and side entry, making this practical and has mesh panels for breathability. There is also a no slip adjustable shoulder strap, which is ok but not the most comfortable. The frame is patented soft frame made of fibre glass.
2- Sleepypod Air in Robins Egg Blue
- For pets up to 17lbs
- Measurements: 22 x 10.5 x 10.5
- Carrier weight: 4lbs
- Price: 215CAD
- To purchase, click here.
This carrier is definitely more luxe, sturdy and high quality. On the downside of all that, it does come with a steeper price tag. I'm absolutely obsessed with the color of this carrier, for obvious reasons. It can be used for the plane, the car or even bicycle.
What's great about Sleepypod, is that they do crash tests with their products at the child safety level, making this carrier one of the safest options for your pet.
The carrier has an anti-slip shoulder strap, mesh panels, a handle on the top, zippers that are lockable and unzip completely. It folds for easy storage and has a machine washable lining. It even has a side pocket for extra storage. BUT, you can't fit much in them. The design is made to be compressed to fit under seat during takeoff or landing.
This carrier is a great option if your budget allows!
3- Go Fresh Pet 2-in-1 Pet Carrier
- For pets up to 15lbs (Herky ok)
- Measurements: 20 x 13 x 12
- Carrier weight: 1.8lbs
- Carrier OR backpack
- Price: 69 CAD
- To purchase, click here.
The biggest advantage of this carrier, is that it can be used as a regular pet carrier or as a backpack. This allows better mobility and portability, especially when you're running around in an airport (or on a trek!).
It comes with a machine washable lining, a handle on the top, side pockets for extra storage (they can fit water bottles), adjustable and padded shoulder straps.
This carrier is not as sturdy as the other ones, but is the most affordable option. It's also waterproof and has reflective bands for added safety. Be careful when using this as a backpack not completely closed because dogs can jump out!
So hopefully this roundup was helpful for you guys! Happy and safe travels! :)
PS: there's a giveaway for some Sleepypod products happening on our Youtube channel :) Check out the video below!

We're unboxing August Pupbox with Herky & Milton!

First off this month is an ear cleaner from Kin+Kind. This is the second product we try out from this brand, and we love it! This brand focuses on natural products and everything is made in the USA. This product contains organic witch hazel, tea tree oil and aloe. It's very important to keep your pup's ears clean, especially if they flop over like Herky & Milton. I clean the girls' ears twice a week to keep infections away!

Cavalier Gear - Review of Cavlife
We're reviewing some products for the cavalier-obsessed human that we are :D All these items are from CavLife, which we've loved from the very beginning. Their page features the cutest cavaliers from Instagram, and the products are just pawesome.
Although they have a lot more offerings, here's what we have the chance to get our paws on. First off is my new favorite piece of jewelry.
And last but certainly not least, are these Cav Party yoga pants! If these don't satisfy your cavalier obsession, I don't know what will. These are a real cavalier party that you can wear on the daily :D They are high waisted, making you feel tucked in even after a meal. They are long on me, but I do measure 5'1". I would point out that these pants are the "light grey", but look lilac in person.
I love these items, and hope you do too! Happy shopping ;)

SUMMER COLLECTION OF ROPE LEASHES IS HERE
We are thrilled and so happy to announce that our Summer Collection of rope leashes is finally here :D
These have been in the works for a few months now, and we even had the chance to go to Mexico to shoot all the promotional photos and product shots. We were in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, bordered by the Bahia de Banderas and lush palm-covered mountains.
For the Summer Collection, I wanted to launch leashes that were bold and colorful. Unlike our Spring Collection, most of these leashes are dyed in three colors. I was inspired by tropical beaches and hot summer days to give you bright and festive leashes.
For the names of these leashes, we wanted to stick with the geographical theme. All of these are named after lush, warm and exotic locations.
Aruba, Bora Bora, Capri
Ibiza, La Isla Bonita, Oahu
We are so incredibly thrilled about this collection, and hope you like it as much as we do. Again, thank you all so much for the continued support and love. We wouldn't be doing any of this if it wasn't for you.
To thank you, we'll be giving away one of these leashes. All you have to do is share this blog post, and comment directly below telling us which leash from this collection is your favorite. This giveaway is international and will be open until June 8th 11:59EST. We'll be picking a winner and announcing it on June 9th, directly under the winner's comment. Stay tuned, and good luck everyone <3
April Pupbox unboxing & review
It's always exciting for the girls (and me) when we receive Pupbox in the mail. Is it just me, or is there something super thrilling about waiting and getting stuff by mail?
Each month, we get a box filled with goodies for Milton. Pupbox follows your pup's growth and development, and sends a curated box each month targeted for your pup's age. If you're interested in signing up, we have a coupon code, "MILTON", that you can use on any subscription to save 15%!
First toy we got is a Kong Puzzlement. I love Kong toys, especially the original Kong. They are known to be very durable and high quality. This toy is a puzzle for your pup, and you can customize the level of difficulty by tucking the bee inside the hive.
Next, we got some duck treats from My Little Wolf. These are grain free, have a low calorie content, and the girls love these. They are said to be made with over 25% real duck meat.
It seems that each month we get some sort of treats, and it's good to see how many brands offer grain-free products. These are great for your pups if they have allergies or intolerances. Or simply if you prefer giving your pup grain free treats and food :)
This is the Everlasting Groovy Ball from Starmark. This brand seems to offer a lot of challenging and puzzle toys, which is amazing! This toy had a giant chicken flavored treat on one end, and you can also add some treats in the other end to add to the fun. Milton is SUPER possessive of this toy and decided it was hers forever and ever.
It's also virtually indestructible therefore very durable. We've played with it for a few weeks now and I must say it is not destroyed so far. I can't say whether it's indestructible or not, though ;) We usually put some kibble in the toy and it keeps the girls distracted for a long time.
This is a very tastefully designed toy from Petprojekt, called Dogegg. It looks like something you could use as decor almost. It's a resistant toy that squeaks and wobbles. Very fun! Milton likes this one a lot. One con about this toy is that the material gathers a lot of dust, especially after the girls play with it.
This is the Magic Block and is intended to be used as a grooming tool. You can brush your dog, or use it to brush off fur from clothes, furniture, cars etc. I can't find it online anywhere, sorry! I brushed Milton with this, and I'm on the fence about it. It removes some fur, but it doesn't gather the fur in the block itself. It sort of brushes the fur off Milton, but you still need to pick up the fur from her afterwards. I haven't used it on furniture or car seats yet, but I think I'll be keeping this to try :)
We also got a pack of 100 all purpose wipes from Groom Genie. These are fantastic, since I use them multiple times a day. I always like to have some wipes around for the girls' paws, bums and faces. These are great to use to keep your pups clean, without having to shower them! I love that this is a 100-pack. I go through these very quickly, so now I have some extra to keep in the car.
Last but not least are the Doggy IncrediBubbles from PetQWerks. I wanted to do this with the girls this summer, so the timing is just perfect. I had seen some photos online of dogs playing with bubbles and thought it was the cutest thing. These are long-lasting, non toxic bubbles infused with peanut butter! They're odd, to be honest. I can actually hold a bubble on my finger without having it pop. Once it pops, it's a film-y, sticky texture though. The girls love the taste, but it can get messy. I would recommend playing with this outdoors.
Thanks for reading, we love you!
Go Fresh Pet Dog Backpack - Review
How cute are these dog backpacks? They're from Go Fresh Pet, and here's a full rundown.
We're actually big fans of Go Fresh Pet products in general. They're always good quality, functional and come in beautiful colors.
These backpacks come in three sizes: S, M and L. Both Herky and Milton are wearing size S in the photo above. I was actually surprised to see that there are only three sizes. Go Fresh Pet usually offer a HUGE range of sizes. BUT this backpack in size S can fit dogs from 15lbs to 35lbs. In all honesty though, it's too big for Milton (who is only 11lbs).
This backpack is so sturdy. It has an integrated harness that buckles at two different locations, with a padded chest strap for support and comfort. It has two removable saddle bags, and hidden compartments for extra storage. There are also two loops for you to hook a leash to. And finally, a back handle for emergencies.
All in all, this backpack is very well made and super practical. If you have an active lifestyle, this backpack is perfect for hands-free trekking. I love the fact that you use it as a harness, but also as a backpack. Although we don't do a lot of off leash trekking and hiking, I would feel comfortable having Herky wear this backpack around. She can carry her own poo bags, right?
We're giving away TWO of these backpacks :D
All you have to do is
1- Be subscribed to our Youtube channel
2- Comment below telling us why you should win :)
The giveaway is international, and will be open until Sunday June 4th 11:59EST. Herky will be drawing the winners on Monday June 5th :)
Good luck everypawdy!
BeOneBreed - Review
I love discovering new dog brands and products, especially when it turns out they are local. I happened to stumble upon BeOneBreed's Facebook Page a few months ago, and was happily surprised with the simplicity of their branding. I noticed that they're a Quebec brand and their product selection was curated.
About the brand
BeOneBreed was previously known as Comfy Solution, founded in 2011. Their mission is to design and deliver solutions for comfort, fun and wellbeing of pets. They offer innovative and accessible products for dogs and cats.
They were very kind and sent over some items for the girls to review. A Cozy bed, a Twisted Twine rubber toy, and a Baby Giraffe fabric toy.
Cozy Bed Wood
I'll be honest. The girls have a lot of beds, toys, collars, leashes. You name it, they probably have a few of them laying around the house. But this bed is special and really caught my eye. It feels incredibly luxe, and is made out of memory foam. It's very soft to the touch, and has a cloud pillow center. Honestly, I would love a bed like this for myself.
It's also very trendy because of the wood motif on the bed, and matches perfectly with my floors and couch. The girls have the size small which measures 23"x19". It's big enough for both girls to sleep in it, if they're cuddling. But most of the time, Milton will shotgun it.
Another thing I look for in beds, is whether they're easy to clean or not. With this bed, you can remove the cover from the pillow, and pop it in the washing machine. For the body of the bed, you can lint roll and spot clean.
I also love the fact that this bed is completely slip-proof. The entire bottom surface is made up of a non-slip material, making it sturdy and stable wherever you put it. I tried moving the bed with my feet, pretending to walk into it, and it didn't slide away. Bonus points for this.
Twisted Twine Rubber Toy
We also received this Twisted Twine rubber toy, which is part of their twisted collection. It's made from 100% rubber, allowing you to play tug of war, or fetch on land or in the pool. I'm guessing it floats - but I haven't tried.
I was actually very eager to try this toy, because Milton loves ropes. However, I don't give her traditional rope toys to play with anymore, because she tears them up and swallows the thread.
Good news is that when Milton actually lets Herky play, she loves it too! The toy is very durable, so there are no pieces of rubber that break off. They don't play tug together, because Herky is afraid of Milton. Poor Herky.
Funny fact: Milton actually takes this toy with her to sleep. Just so she can guard it.
Baby Giraffe Fabric Toy
How adorable is this Baby Giraffe toy? It actually reminds me of a toy for human babies. This toy squeaks, crinkles and has a rubber teething ring too. It's like an all-in-one for puppies. Plus, it's cute.
Obviously, Milton shotgunned this toy and claimed it as hers.
The downside of any fabric toy, is that they're usually not very durable. This toy is a puppy toy too, making it softer and more suitable for baby teeth. Milton was able to destroy this toy within an hour of getting her paws on it :(
I would strongly advise that once your pup's toy gets to this stage, that you throw it out. If your pups are anything like mine, they will most likely eat the stuffing. No good.
This toy doesn't go to complete waste though. I was able to pull the teething ring out of the baby giraffe, and use it as a stand-alone toy!
BeOneBreed has definitely impressed me as a brand. I love their website, their product offering and their color schemes. Everything that they offer has a simple design, and a great function.
My favorite item is obviously the Cozy Bed. It looks so beautiful, it's practical and the girls love to sleep in it. I love how Pinterest-y it looks, how easy it is to clean, and how it doesn't slip and slide when it's on the floor. As for their toys, you have to be careful to choose something that you know will withstand your pup's chewing abilities. My girls are heavy chewers, so that poor Baby Giraffe didn't stand a chance.
I hope you enjoyed this review - thanks for reading :)
We have finally found a harness that we love! You may not know this about us, but we are quite the pullers when it comes time to go on walks. There are too many smells and things to explore when outdoors, that's why :D
Herky used to have a nylon front-clip harness, which worked for a while. However, it wasn't as easy to put on and didn't seem as secure as we would've wished. You can find that harness here: https://www.amazon.ca/PetSafe-Easy-Harness-Medium-Black/dp/B005HNPCY4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488757002&sr=8-1&keywords=no+pull+harness
We had seem and heard a lot of great things about the Julius K9 harness, but didn't pay much attention to it at first because of its look. It seemed to be so much more fitting for big dogs like our cousin, Tormey the King Shepherd. Boy oh boy does he look good in that harness.
But mommy still gave in and wanted to try it because we are so intense on the pulling. The result: she loves it! It's very sturdy, secure, and makes walking so much easier. More information here: http://julius-k9.com/
We strongly recommend this harness. You can also change the labels on the side of this harness, for example if you have a therapy dog ! Plus, the letters glow in the dark for added security for night time walks.
We hope this helps you out in your harness shopping!
