This was just a lower body bath to get rid of some snow balls, but we still wanted to film something and share it with you. We hope you enjoy!

Unboxing March Pupbox with Herky & Milton

It's time to unbox March Pupbox!

Pupbox is a monthly subscription box curated for your puppy according to his or her age and size. By signing up with code "MILTON", you can get a nice 15% off discount :)

March Pupbox was Milton's 8-month box, and was all about dental hygiene. We actually started both Herky and Milton on dental hygiene since they were about 2 months old to get them accustomed on the process. They are quite good with teeth cleaning, which is great for maintaining good dental health.

First up this month is some treats: Jerky Squares from Pet Greens
Picture
These treats smell very strong, but are great if you want to add some greens to your dog's diet in the form of treats! The girls love to snack on kale - bonus for that!

Next we have a HuggleHounds Ruff-Tex toy
Picture
How adorable is this toy? I love that it's made of 100% natural rubber and safe colorings. It's not a hollow toy either, which makes it a more durable.

We also got a Toothbrush & Toothpaste Kit:
Picture
Dental hygiene is so important and can help prevent a lot of diseases. I highly encourage all dog owners to brush their dog's teeth at least once a week to help remove plaque and help tartar buildup. The sooner you start them on this, the more used to it they will become :)

We also got a flossy chew from Mammoth:
Picture
Rope toys are great for dogs because it keeps them distracted and they're usually very durable. However, Milton has been a little destructive with her toys lately, especially rope toys. She'll destroy them and even swallow some parts of it. It's a bit dangerous for her, so I don't give her toys like this for now. It'll go to Herky :)

Next we have the Flavorit Breath:
Picture
This toy is infused with chlorophyll to help promote healthy gums and fresh breath. It has little flavor cells that you can fill with peanut butter, or apple sauce! Milton actually loves this toy so much! Just be careful when giving hard toys and treats to your dog. You want to watch and supervise when they chew on these, to make sure they don't chomp on them too intensely. You never know when your dog can fracture a tooth.

Last but not least is Z-Bone from Zuke's:
Picture
These dental chews are soft so they don't last very long. I use them more as little treats, since we actually brush their teeth. However, the girls love these!

See the girls unbox below :D

Dear Puppy Milton: Love of Cones

23/4/2017

Picture
Dear puppy Milton,

Today, I'm going share you in on an absolulte life devotion of mine.
Please brace yourself, because the fun involved with this activity is so exhilarating,
It is so thrilling that it will intoxicate your body,
and leave your snout shaking in an invegorating frenzy.

The activity hereby mentioned is called: The Joy of Cone Eating (!)
I mean, I know it's not a cone per say. Obviously. I am not stupid.
We all know that this is in a fact a cylindrical formed object.
I did in fact pass my grade 3 geometry class with flying colors.

It's just that I prefer to call it a cone. It has a nice ring to it.
Don't you find?
Cone.
It's sounds so short and sweet.
Cone.
It arouses your senses of fresh, clean, natural air. Like pine cones.
Coneeee.
When the humans blow in them, it makes magical whale sounds.
It's pleasing to the ear. Arouses your nose with the perfumed fragrance of happiness.
It tickles your innocence with pure wholesome enjoyment.
Cones.
I love cones. So much. Oh so much.
I like short cones, long cones, dark cones. I love them all. I love to lick them, nibble on them, chew them. I like it all.

Connnnes....
I do find however, that you repeat the word too much, it starts to lose it's meaning.
Cone. Connnne. Cone. Cone?
hihi, ooooohhh precious cones.

Let me teach you about the different specifications of cones though.
Because even though they might slightly resemble each other in shape and size.
Every cone is different.

You can start with the Beginner's cone, Dear puppy Milton.
This short sized cone measures about 4 inches in length with a diameter of 2 inches.
These are commonly found hidden inside toilet paper rolls labeled Charmin, Cottonnelle, or Scott Naturals
on it. These humans, they do the oddest things.
I never understood why they would hide these sweet, delicious cones inside toilet paper.
Do they seriously think that we'd never find out?
Silly silly oomans. They are so dull-witted sometimes.

Next, you will find the longer sized, Bounty paper cones.
These cones are for moderate enthusiasts. They also are of 2inches diameter,
with a circomference of 5 inches, but get this.
Their length can reach up to TWELVE inches!

OMG.
That is literally THREE times the size of a beginner's cone!
You know what they say? 3 times the size, 3 times the exhiliration.
It's madness.

Lastly, you will discover the ultimate rare cone.
These thick, compact cones are find hidden, wrapped deep in the center of paper made out of metal!
The oomans call it - "A LU MI-NUM". I know, it's straight out of a science fiction movie.
It's outstanding and unsurpassed.
I think they hide it in this A-LU-MINUM chemical compound because they are selfish.

Luckily for you, dear puppy Milton. I have defyed all odds and has succeeded on
putting my paws on not one, but TWO of these treasured cones.

I see you are already quite skillful at the art of Cone Shredding already.
It must run in your blood.
Some other dogs just don’t have it in them.
Legend has it that our dog-dad was quite the Cone Shredder himself.

So let us rejoice in this magnificent pleasure of cone shredding, dear puppy Milton.
It is a joy that is undescripable. An eccstacy like none other, but I don't need to tell you that.
You seem to have this love of cones inbreded in you already.
I am so proud of you, dear Puppy Milton.

Love,

Your big sister Herky

Herky & Milton at Off Leash Studio

Herky & Milton at Off Leash Studio, Toronto.
Hi loves!

We are so excited to share some photos of Herky & Milton from a recent collaboration with the amazing Kevin from Off Leash Studio! We were visiting Toronto last weekend, and stumbled onto Kevin's Facebook page. I was blown away by his ability to capture dog's spunky personalities. My mind was set - we had to pass by his studio that weekend.
Kevin was SUPER quick to reply to our inquiry (koodos for that!). And although he was solidly booked for the next month, he said he would be able to squeeze us in for a session on that Sunday. We were all so excited!

The girls, being little suburban princesses, were not quite used to Toronto's busy and bustling streets. They were quite nervous and acting very anxious, which means they were not being their usual models during the shoot. For some behind the scenes moments, check out the video here:
Needless to say we had a lot of fun, and still got some amazing shots, thanks to Kevin's patience and talent. Bonus points for him laying on the floor for the entire shoot. You'll find some of our favourite shots below.

The girls needed a lot more directions and treats to cooperate.

"CATCH!" Herky @ Off Leash Studio, Toronto.
Probably my favourite shot of Herky during this shoot. This girl always likes to catch treats!

"I can't catch, so I'll just smile" Milton @ Off Leash Studio, Toronto
Poor little Milton isn't capable of catching treats, so she just opted for the traditional sit and smile.

Just two sisters trying to play it cool.
I'm literally obsessed with these photos, and can't wait to show you more!

A huge thank you to Kevin for squeezing us into his already full schedule, and for creating this timeless memories for us.

Dog Bloopers Part 3: Herky & Milton

Hi loves,

If you're a dog parent and you're anything like me, you know that most of the time, you try to take photos or videos of your fur baby. The downside is that they're not always so cooperative. I may sometimes have to take thirty shots to get that one good photo. Same goes for videos. Most of the time, they just move around constantly or bark like there's no tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy this little compilation!

HOW TO: Get Rid of Snow Balls from your dog's fur

5/4/2017

Hi loves,

If you have a Cavalier, you know that their fur is one of their most beautiful attributes. You would also know that that beautiful fur can gather all sorts of stuff during walks, including huge snow balls. It's actually quite a hassle for us to go play outside in the winter, since these snow balls gather so easily, and so quickly.

They can also be quite painful for your pup, since they get very heavy and therefore pull on their fur and skin.
Although we use a snow suit for Herky, snow balls can still form around the ankles and on the belly. Plus, Herky really doesn't like to wear any sort of clothing, so it's a battle everytime we try to put it on her.

We've found out that the best way to get rid of these snow balls is by using water! Not the blow dryer, not a towel. I usually do what they call a lower-body bath, and run some lukewarm water on the snowballs. They melt right off, and it's much quicker than using a blow dryer to try and melt the snowballs. This method also prevents those pesky knots that can again, so easily form on cavalier fur.

Of course, make sure you blow dry the fur after you've run their bodies under water.

We hope this helps you!

Introducing NEW Decorative Throw Pillow Covers

BOUTIQUE
Hi loves,

We are so happy and excited to finally launch our decorative pillow covers :D We've been working on these for so long, and they're finally ready to launch! If you're anything like me, you know that it's a must to change the pillows around your house as seasons come and go. The downside is that I can't always find pillows or pillow covers that meet my exact expectations. Now, I can have pillows that add a decorative touch to the house, in beautiful spring colors that reflect the true cavalier-obsessed person that I am.

This collection has 5 different designs:
- Herky  & Milton Portrait
- Home is where the Paws Are
- Catch me Outside
- I'd rather be with my Cavalier
- Snuggle Time

and 5 different colors for you to choose from:
- white
- tan
- dusty mint
- dusty pink
- light grey
SHOP
I'm just obsessed with these colors, as they are toned down but still add the perfect touch of spring to our living room.

All the pillow covers shown measure 20"x20", but they are also available in 16"16". I can comfortably fit a 17" pillow inside the 20"x20" pillow cover and it gives it a more relaxed look. They are all made from 100% cotton canvas, and have a good thick consistency to them.
To add to all this excitement, we're also hosting a little giveaway on our Youtube channel for these pillow covers! The rules are simple:

- Subscribe to our Youtube channel
- Comment on our video
- Send us an email saying you entered, with your name and shipping information

We hope you'll participate in this little giveaway, and we REALLY hope you like these pillow covers as much as we do :D

Cavalier King Charles in the "Storm of the Century"

2/4/2017

Hi loves,

Last week, we got a huge snow storm, what some even called the "storm of the century". Some areas near where we live got up to 75cm of snow!

We absolutely love snow, as you can see from this little video compilation below. Sadly, most of the snow is not melted. But, we made the most of it while we could.

In this video, Herky & Milton are wearing the Manhattan and Paris leash from our Spring Collection. We created these leashes, and absolutely love them. They are available on our boutique :)

We hope you enjoy watching us romp in the snow.
