We're starting this new series called Cavi Community! In each installment, we'll be featuring a new cavalier account, or an extraordinary person behind such cavalier.
This week is Little Jerry Boy from Instagram, who also has a blog, and his amazing mom Georgia, who started The Cavenue. It's not difficult to love Jerry, as you can see from his sweet expression and quirky comments. We met Jerry through Instagram last year, and have very much enjoyed getting to know him and seeing his sweet face everyday.
What's more amazing about the cavalier community on Instagram, is getting to know who are the amazing people behind their cavaliers. I've had the opportunity to meet Georgia, the woman behind Jerry. She's the one that photographs and puts into words everything that Jerry wants to say.
We love Jerry's blog, and The Cavenue's blog, which recently launched. If you're a cavalier-obsessed-individual like I am, there's no doubt you'll love both of these blogs.

We also had the great opportunity to be the subject of The Cavenue's first article from People and their Cavs: https://www.thecavenue.com/single-post/2017/03/16/Herky-the-Cavalier
This is so special to us, as this article is the first that's ever been written about me and the girls. Thank you so much, Jerry and Georgia.
Last week, there was this little strange thing that entered our house. This little thing was small, and smelled just like a human. But how can a human be so small?
We went in a little closer to get a better sniff. Confirmed. We think she's a tiny human! Odd thing that she is so small, and smells like milk. She also make little squeaking noises and likes to sit in a flying saucer near the ground.
Finally, her tiny bum smells like poo. If you're intrigued by all this, we invite you to watch the video below.

We hope you're as excited as we are for the unboxing of Milton's February Pupbox! Each month, we receive a box filled with goodies which includes 5-7 full sized items, like treats, toys and training material. Milton has been receiving these boxes since she's 2 months old, and she gets SUPER excited each time there's a new one.
In this box, we got a great assortment of things.
First thing is a mini donut toy from Zippy Paws. Milton is so obsessed with this toy! It squeaks, it rattles, it has no stuffing, and it's durable. Plus, it looks so cute!
Next, we got Health Soft & Chewy Dog Treats from Isle of Dogs, made from blueberries and apples! The girls love these treats. But then again, the girls love ANY treat or ANY food (even non food). What we usually look for in treats, is high quality ingredients, that are made in Canada or in the USA that don't have any (or a lot of) by products and added chemicals. These treats specifically are a little large for Milton, so I would suggest you cut them up in smaller pieces before giving them to your puppy.
Next is the Starmark Treat Ringer Light Bulb. This is a toy that helps prevent destructive boredom behaviors and is made of durable nylon. You can also use treats that you have at home, and arrange the treats in the toy differently to adjust the level of difficulty. We also got some refills of the treat rings for the toy. We tried this toy out a few times with Herky & Milton, but Milton seems to not grasp the concept of this toy much. She would usually bark at the toy, or claw around it, and only really licks the treats when I hold it up for her. Plus, she gets SUPER possessive of this toy, and very territorial. She barks, runs after Herky and tries to bite her everytime this toy is out. So we try not to have this toy around too much.
Last but not least is a meaty bone from Redbarn Naturals. A lot of different companies offer this type of treat for dogs and it's basically a bone that's slightly dried out. It has some meat residue on it, which makes it irresistible to dogs. Unfortunately, due to Herky's accident with antler chews, I stay away from anything too hard. Herky had a molar fractured and we needed to get her to surgery to remove that huge tooth.
We hope you enjoyed this mini-review of the February Pupbox! For more information on Pupbox, visit www.pupbox.com ! If you're interested, you can also save 15% off any subscription with code "MILTON" at checkout. For our video review, click on the video below :)

We have finally found a harness that we love! You may not know this about us, but we are quite the pullers when it comes time to go on walks. There are too many smells and things to explore when outdoors, that's why :D
Herky used to have a nylon front-clip harness, which worked for a while. However, it wasn't as easy to put on and didn't seem as secure as we would've wished. You can find that harness here: https://www.amazon.ca/PetSafe-Easy-Harness-Medium-Black/dp/B005HNPCY4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488757002&sr=8-1&keywords=no+pull+harness
We had seem and heard a lot of great things about the Julius K9 harness, but didn't pay much attention to it at first because of its look. It seemed to be so much more fitting for big dogs like our cousin, Tormey the King Shepherd. Boy oh boy does he look good in that harness.
But mommy still gave in and wanted to try it because we are so intense on the pulling. The result: she loves it! It's very sturdy, secure, and makes walking so much easier. More information here: http://julius-k9.com/
We strongly recommend this harness. You can also change the labels on the side of this harness, for example if you have a therapy dog ! Plus, the letters glow in the dark for added security for night time walks.
We hope this helps you out in your harness shopping!

Hello paw friends!
We thought we would put together another bloopers video for you all. We do love to produce these videos with Herky & Milton, but they're not always so cooperative. Here's a look at what happens behind the scenes.
We hope you enjoy :D
For more videos, visit our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvGxJukSCVPlWLiHd6FZsdw
Today's episode of Dear Puppy Milton is a bit different... It is Dear Mean Kitten, and Herky addresses Kitten directly as to why dogs are better than cats.
1- Dogs have feelings, unlike cats
2- Dogs don't bite the hand that feeds them
3- Dogs have big, beautiful, soulful, round brown eyes
4- Dogs express their emotions with their tail wags
5- Dogs are humans' best friends
6- Dogs are worth more than cats
7- Cats are incapable of going on nature walks
8- We don't like cat lovers.
Of course, this video was produced for humorous purposes ;)
Thank you for watching!

Herky & Milton
As you may or may not know, Herky had fractured one of her molars and had to get surgery to get that tooth extracted. It was a very unfortunate accident, but we did our best to keep her comfortable afterwards.
Here is what we did:
The most important was to feed Herky some soft food. We opted for the Orijen freeze-dried food for a few days, then the Caru stews.
- Orijen Freeze-Dried https://www.orijen.ca/foods/dog-food/...
- Caru stews: http://carupetfood.com/product-catego...
The Orijen freeze-dried food was a great option, as it seemed complete and balanced. However, it is quite pricey and takes a lot of time to prepare. This is a down side because Herky gets VERY impatient waiting for her food. The other option is stews. The Caru stews actually looked like home-cooked human food!
You could also pour some hot water or salt-free broth over your dog's kibble to soften it. Again, this requires a bit of waiting around and may be a bit annoying for your dog ;)
Of course, follow the instructions given by your veterinarian and administer any medication prescribed. Herky had some anti-inflammatory and painkillers. Both were to be administered with meals.
I hope this may help you in any way possible. Don't forget to keep your dog comfortable, and to avoid any chewing in the meantime.
We all thought winter was over, but it was always in the back of our minds that Mother Nature would surprise us with one last snow storm. We were right.
We got so much fluffy, powdery snow. There's nothing quite like seeing the girls romp in the snow. They love it so much, and look like cute little bunnies.
To keep them warm, we put some winter parkas on them. They are wearing Go Fresh Pet in this video.
We hope you enjoy watching them romp and have fun as much as we do. Thank you for watching!
